Answering the Call (of Duty)

Ever since Christmas, I've been playing Call of Duty: World at War for the Nintendo Wii almost obsessively. The controls and online multiplayer make it an addicting experience. I can't imagine playing the game with a sluggish, standard controller. As it stands, I'm ready to rank COD5 among the top 5 games for the system. I haven't had this much fun since Super Mario Galaxy!

Some things I wish it had:

- Split screen multiplayer
- More maps and game modes, like the 360 and PS3 versions
- Better online friend management
- Improved visuals (game wavers between blurry mess and best graphics on the Wii)

I'm excited for the next iteration in the series.

  1. Your wish list coupled with your "top 5 titles on the Wii" comment would seem to edify the position of those critics who bemoan the Wii's lack of quality games. :\

  2. Last year was a bad year for wii software, insofar as originality and variety are concerned (but obviously not sales). Now that Nintendo has cemented its position as market leader, I expect this year to be a good one ... although the economy may put a damper on things.

Even so, to Wii detractors, I'd rather they interpret my enthusiasm as it's meant: COD5 is a really fun game on the wii and, while watered down in some respects, I think it may be the superior version because of controls.

  3. Give me Fatal Frame 4 and then we'll talk. :\

*still hates Reggie and the rest of NOA for not porting the game Stateside just because a bunch of Japanese fans whined about the controls*
