More Republicans Endorse Obama

First several high profile Republican columnists praise and endorse Obama, then the conservative newspaper The Chicago Tribune bucks tradition and endorses Obama, and now Republican and former secretary of state Colin Powell has endorsed Obama!

Wow. When was the last time a candidate has ever enjoyed this much bipartisan support?

Hey, thats my name. :-)
A guy at work was telling me about what he said in this. I told him that I think Colin Powell would be a cool president.

I distrust Colin Powell now as I did then, 5 years ago, for his crime of knowingly and purposefully exaggerating proof of WMDs in Iraq in front of the United Nations Security Council in order to justify a full-scale military invasion. But I'll give him this: he's smart, he's polite, he's politically moderate, and he has high-ranking experience in both the military and the civilian branches of US Government.

Were it not for his involvement with President Bush and the Iraq War, I would be highly enthusiastic were Obama, as President, to select Colin Powell to be the nation's new Secretary of State. But as it stands, I suspect that Colin Powell wants to remain in retirement and that Obama will end up picking a Democrat with lots of diplomatic experience. [anti-jinx] Provided he wins! [/anti-jinx]
