Oh Benny Boy...

You've just lost nearly all my respect accrued from your great game show days.

"Darwinists"? I think the word you're searching for is biologists. "Lightening striking mud created a Boeing 747" What an infantile strawman! Come on man! It's clear you've undertaken no serious investigation of biology. In fact, I'm reminded of this:

I like how he uses the Foot-in-the-Door technique right off the bat with the following claims:
1) "Darwin said nothing about how life originated" - okay ... maybe ...
2) "Darwin had no idea of how complicated the cell is" - okay ...
3) "Darwin was never able to point to any clear evidence of any species that had originated by evolution" - WHAT!?

And yeah. The "lightning striking a mud puddle" bit reflects that Ben Stein is stuck in 1953.

"It's an answer that wouldn't make sense to a small child -- it's not a real answer." Wow, Ben. Wow. So in order for something to be real, it has to make sense to a small child. Like Santa Claus -- that's real. Or organic chemistry -- that's not real.

I can hear a lot of theists groaning over Stein's words in that last bit. He basically fed atheists the cannon fodder that Christianity is so unintelligent a small child (e.g. of age 8, well before Piaget's fourth stage of childhood development would have taken place) could explain it, as well as the cannon fodder that "Creationists are like the tobacco industry -- they target kids because kids are impressionable, gullible, and don't know any better. Adults are too smart to start smoking cigarettes; and they're too smart to start believing in Santa in the heavens, too. You gotta get 'em while they're young. Or traumatized."
